The Fuss About Gay Marriage is about the Children

Country and western singing icon and outspoken Christian Cary Underwood was recently criticized in on-line posts for her support of gay marriage. In an interview she said "any two people who love each other ought to be able to get married." While I disagree with Miss Underwood, I can appreciate how she comes to her conclusion. The church has neglected to teach a biblical view of human sexuality and marriage, and many millennial Christians would say much the same thing if asked. One of the reasons the courts have opened the way for gay marriage is that the Christian church has failed to model or to teach biblical marriage.  Some churches have even asserted that loving people the way Christ loves requires that we open the way for gays to marry. The Roman Catholic Church is considering a more open position on homosexuality. Miss Underwood's statement reveals a  misunderstanding of  the role of love and romance in marriage. The church needs to distinguish between Christi...

Kirk Cameron is wrong about Conditional Immortality.

Kirk Cameron is a brother most of us can respect. He is a Christian television and film actor who has maintained his Christian integrity and testimony. He has been an effective evangelist and spokesperson for the gospel for nearly a generation. Recently on his podcast DANGEROUS CONVERSATION's  podcast he was interviewed by his son, James, who raised concerns about  the eternal destiny of the wicked. They question "why would a loving God send someone he created to hell?" James Cameron finds it difficult to answer someone who raises this objection to the gospel because eternal punishment seems tyrannical to him. His interview with his father focused on whether the common notion of hell, being ...

Hope Fell From the Sky in August 1945

And so he began: Seventy-one years ago, on a bright cloudless morning, death fell from the sky and the world was changed. A flash of light and a wall of fire destroyed a city and demonstrated that mankind possessed the means to destroy itself. The death that fell from the sky on that "bright cloudless morning" laid a new foundation for peace and restored order. The War with it's 60 million dead had demonstrated man's capacity  to destroy itself. The bomb prevented civilization's self-destruction. The bomb prevented civilization's self-destruction. Why do we come to this place, to Hiroshima? We come to ponder a terrible force unleashed in a not-so-distant past. We come to mourn the dead, including over 100,000 Japanese men, women and children, thousands of Koreans, a dozen Americans held prisoner. The force unleashed that killed so many was unleashed long before the fateful day.  After many envoys had gone from China pursuing peace, Japan invaded...
