Josh Mc Dowell's Cancellation Proves Critical Race Theory's Incompatibility With The Gospel

Josh Mc Dowell the nation's leading Christian apologist was recently forced to step down from his  ministry because of comments he made about  race in the greater context of comments about Critical Race Theory.  According to Religious News Service in a speech to a group of Christian counselors Mc Dowell said:  that CRT “negates all the biblical teaching” about racism — because it focuses on systems rather than the sins of the human heart and said today’s definition of “social justice” is not biblical. “There’s no comparison to what is known today as social justice with what the Bible speaks of as justice,” he said. “With CRT they speak structurally. The Bible speaks individually. Make sure you get that. That’s a big difference. He then made a comment about his opinion on the state of race in America that caused him to be cancelled by his parent organization Cru; “I do not believe Blacks, African Americans, and many other minorities have equal opportunity. Why?...

Did Israel and the Early Church Practice Social Justice?

Many woke evangelicals will argue that both the nation of Israel and the early church were communal societies, and that socialism is more aligned with a capitalistic view. In this the third of my series on woke Christianity. I will answer the two most common examples that are cited by Progressive Christians as example of Biblically sanctioned wealth redistribution. I have all ready  demonstrated that the commonly cited texts of  Matthew 25:31-46 and Luke 10:25-37 do not support the establishment of a social welfare state. One of the great misconceptions I often hear espoused is that Israel and early church were similar to a modern socialist systems. The two examples I am given are the year of Jublilee in the Old Testament and a description of the early church in Acts.  The concept of Sabbath rest is central to the Old Testament. The Year of Jubilee establishes a Seventh Year of Rest. The concept was that the economy would go through a reset on the The Jubilee Years; unpa...

Are All Liberals Socialists?

By David L. Miner Some people believe Socialism is good. Others think Democrats are good. They both point to the same benefits and the same beliefs. Some people believe that Liberals and Democrats are the same. I am convinced that they are different, but so far I can find no evidence to support my belief. But allow me to make a statement before engaging in the analyses of socialistic views. The Constitution for the United States of America requires a republican form of government. [ The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence. Article 4 Section 4 ] Socialists intend to change that, and Democrats try to chip around the edges of that Constitution every day on the same issues as Socialists. That means Socialists and any Libe...

A TRUMP PRESIDENCY by David L. Miner

It would appear to many, especially the political pundits, that Donald Trump may very well be the Republican Candidate for President of the United States of America. And the Internet gives all of us plenty of opportunity to like or endorse or reject or hate the man. In doing any of the above, I suggest that Conservative Christians have the hardest job in many years of deciding which of the above options we should pursue. Is God calling Conservative Christians to refuse to vote for Trump? Can Conservative Christians endorse Donald Trump and look God in the eyes at Judgement? And can Conservative Christians support or vote for a man with the moral and spiritual failures that Trump clearly carries with him? And can Conservative Christians reject Trump's candidacy when knowing that action will result in less votes for Trump, when every vote for Trump cancels out a vote for Hilary Clinton. In other words, withholding a vote for Trump will almost assure four more years ...

There Really is a Santa Claus After All!

My wife and I never decried the myth of Santa Claus. I never prevented my kids from watching Santa Clause television specials. We read the "Night Before Christmas." But when my kids got old enough to ask whether Santa was real we usually answered, "What do you think? Do you think a fat little man in a red suit delivers presents to everyone in the world in a 24-hour period on a flying sleigh pulled by  reindeer?" They understood immediately that Santa was a fantasy. Preschool children fantasize. When my children were small. They really believed in Santa Claus and that there was a big yellow bird who taught them to spell, a grouch who lived in a trash can, and a "cookie monster." As they grew older they learned to separate fact from fiction. The"Cat-in-the-Hat" and "Power Rangers" were the creative product of a someone's vivid imagination, as was Santa Claus. As  a Christian family we honored Jesus at Christmas and celebrated his birt...
