Are All Liberals Socialists?

By David L. Miner Some people believe Socialism is good. Others think Democrats are good. They both point to the same benefits and the same beliefs. Some people believe that Liberals and Democrats are the same. I am convinced that they are different, but so far I can find no evidence to support my belief. But allow me to make a statement before engaging in the analyses of socialistic views. The Constitution for the United States of America requires a republican form of government. [ The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence. Article 4 Section 4 ] Socialists intend to change that, and Democrats try to chip around the edges of that Constitution every day on the same issues as Socialists. That means Socialists and any Libe...

The 800 Pound Gorilla in the Debate Hall

Have you noticed that ever since Reagan said to Carter "there you go again," the Presidential debates have been either innocuous or controlled to advance a liberal agenda? Until Candy Crowley moderated the Ryan/ Biden Vice Presidential debate and interrupted Congressman Ryan 176 times, making her own political assertions, it was done through loaded questions and subtle suggestions. Now a moderator is extolled for their “Candy Crowley moments.” They are supposed to "fact check," which is a euphemism for measuring what a candidate says against the approved media narrative. Fact checking seldom involves an examination of official records, or peer reviewed sources but a google search for pseudo -commentary to make the moderator seem credible. Who chooses these moderators? Who makes the rules? Why do we call them debates? Are they? Are there two sides of an argument allowed? What do we really learn from these debates? These debates are usually opened by a "h...

Anarchy -- Who is Really The Source?

Image
by David L. Miner Anarchy is a terrible thing if we listen to our contemporary media or our government. As a result of the powerful meanings subtly communicated by the media and our government, most of America has been deceived as to who or what is working toward anarchy. We have been deceived as to what should be done to save America from these groups. And we have been terribly deceived as to what must be done to save us from this supposedly horrible situation. We will attempt to examine the word and its emotional baggage in this article. In addition, we will take a close look at the primary cause of anarchy and see that the very government that so fears anarchy is the chief cause of it. In future articles, we will examine more closely exactly what the government is doing to stop anarchy, and what Americans should be doing to stop the government. The first assumption about anarchy is that anarchy and rebellion are the same, or in some way connected. The dictionary tel...

Why Not Trump

Following my last Elisha's Ax Head post  "The Growing Pandemic of Foot-and-Mouth Disease"  I stated this post would emphasize how we actually avoid the malady. Unfortunately, it has taken me more time than I expected to prepare the second post, and with all that has happened in the month since I last posted I have decide to delay my post for one month. I apologize for the delay but after this post I will return to Elisha's Ax Head Can anyone explain why for 6+ years under President George W Bush (43) we went without any terrorist attack on US soil, or on our interests overseas, while after 71/2 years of Obama we have had either a terrorist attack, a mass shooting, or riots weekly? Sometimes Obama says availability of guns is the problem. Other time s, he says its because of a racist judicial system . Were guns not as readily available from 2003-2009? Do we spend too much money on military spending , o r have we failed to use our military to create diversit...

R.I.P. G.O.P.

Yesterday my wife asked me, "What is the Republican party going to do with a corrupt crook at the head of the ticket?" My initial response was "I don't think Trump is a crook. He will likely win the nomination legally; the party has little choice but to get behind him and hope he wins. The sad thing is that if Hillary wins the nomination both parties will have a 'corrupt person at the head of the ticket." The conversation has gotten me thinking about what the Trump nomination means for the G.O.P. My entire adult life Republican consultants, commentators and pundits have espoused a political strategy of reaching "across the aisle," and bringing democrats and independents into the party. Candidates should tailor their message to independents (by not being too conservative). The country is "left of center,"they say. "We need someone who can bring more people into the party by negotiating with the other side 'to get things done....
