The nation watched in horror this weekend as a perverse, angry, bigoted, ignominious white supremacist drove his vehicle into a crowd of liberal ANTIFA demonstrators, killing mercilessly a beautiful young woman. Later in the day as a result of a police helicopter crash two Virgina State Troopers were killed. President Trump denounced the violence, saying correctly, that it had occurred due to violence on "all sides." Virginia governor Terry Macaulife told the White supremacist groups to go home. Pundits and prognosticators were quick to blame the extreme right organizations and their leaders for the young woman's death. Christian web-sites and Pastors denounced "the hate" that the white supremacist had supposedly perpetrated on Charlottesville. The next day two white supremacist leaders sought to have a press conference to defend their group from culpability for these events. Some people believe that Liberals and Democrats are the same. I am convinced that they are different, but so far I can find no evidence to support my belief. But allow me to make a statement before engaging in the analyses of socialistic views. The Constitution for the United States of America requires a republican form of government. [ The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence. Griffis Recently, we have been hearing reports of conservative Christians and even evangelical leaders, implying that patriotism, and especially the nationalism advocate by President Trump, is a polite and cleaned up version of idolatry. In other words the question seems to be, can a Christian be loyal to his country, and support the countries dominance in world affairs without being idolatrous? Should we honor a government whose leaders may be corrupt, secular or with whom we disagree. Is loyalty to a secular, godless leader or country the equivalent of worship of that leader or country?  After laughing a bit, and after realizing that these people are actually serious, we have decided to  rant about such a sincere but misled doctrinal viewpoint.
